Join the School of Media and Public Affairs and the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute for a panel discussion with several prominent Latino journalists as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We will discuss the challenges and stereotypes that continue in U.S. mainstream news when it comes to stories about Latinos in America and the expectations Latino journalists face when covering specific beats.

Panelists include broadcast pioneer Ray Suarez, the Society of Professional Journalists President Rebecca Aguilar, and freelance journalist Lori Lizarraga.

This is a hybrid event with the option to attend in person or virtually. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, seats to attend the event will be limited and masks are required. Registration for either a Zoom link or in-person is required.
