Cisneros Research & Policy Colloquia
The Cisneros Research and Policy Colloquia is an invite-only series of gatherings with experts to discuss pressing contemporary issues at the nexus of research and policy. During each convening, thought leaders on the topic of focus are invited to provide insights to the group, answer questions, and engage in discussion. The Cisneros Institute then uses these insights to shape its research and produce public-facing products that are translatable for researchers and policymakers.

Current Issues & Opportunities in Immigration Policy
In September 2025, the Cisneros Institute hosted experts from the Vera Institute of Justice and the Democracy Power Project for an engaged discussion on contemporary issues related to immigration. Speakers identified core issues in policy and research and opportunities for deeper engagement between the two arenas.
Spotlight: Colloquium on Education
Current Issues & Opportunities in Education Policy
In February 2026, we hosted experts from the Center for American Progress, the Migration Policy Institute, New America, The Presidents' Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, and the Aspen Institute for our first Colloquium on Education. Our panelists brought their expertise on K-12 and higher education to discuss critical issues such as teacher shortages, the impacts of immigration enforcement on learning, college financial aid and affordability, and tuition equity policies.
