As part of its mission to provide leadership opportunities to those with a demonstrated commitment to serving the Latino/Hispanic community, the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute is thrilled to announce that the 2024 Caminos al Futuro Pre-College Summer Program application is now open!

Caminos al Futuro is a fully funded and residential summer program designed to empower rising high school seniors with professional, educational, and leadership development opportunities while living at a university campus. Students gain a firsthand view of policymaking in the nation's capital through visits to Capitol Hill and engage in stimulating lectures and small-group meetings with university professors and national Latino leaders. They receive valuable insights into the college application process, scholarships, and financial aid from Admissions Specialists at the George Washington University, and culminate the experience by presenting their own initiatives that bring positive change to Latinos in their communities.

Since 2016, Caminos al Futuro has proudly supported over 75 students on their journey toward higher education. Alumni have been accepted into prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, Stanford University, Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of California Los Angeles, among others, underscoring the program's commitment to nurturing academic excellence and leadership.

“Caminos offers a unique and transformative three-week experience for students, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to become future leaders and advocates. We invite all eligible students to seize this remarkable opportunity,” said Dr. Elizabeth Vaquera, Executive Director of the GW Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute.

Applications for Summer 2024 open on December 15, 2023, and close on March 1, 2024. For more information, please visit the Caminos al Futuro web page
