Courtney Riggle-van Schagen
Courtney Riggle-van Schagen is a doctoral student in the Milken Institute School of Public Health, in the Department of Prevention and Community Health. She has worked in community health for nearly two decades with a focus on supporting Latino immigrants, addressing health disparities and advocating for health equity for immigrants. Ms. Riggle-van Schagen holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University. Her areas of research interest are centered on the intersection of social justice and human rights issues for migrants at the US Southern border and reducing health disparities for Latino immigrants.
