LatinXpression with Edgar Gomez

The LatinXpression Series is an initiative of the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute that aims to inspire the GW community through stimulating conversations with Latinx artists, authors, and musicians.

Edgar Gomez is a Florida-born writer with roots in Nicaragua and Puerto Rico. Their recently published memoir, High-Risk Homosexual, follows their touching, hilarious, and often circuitous path to embracing a gay, Latinx identity against a culture of machismo—from their uncle’s cockfighting ring in Nicaragua to cities across the U.S.—and the bath houses, night clubs, and drag queens who helped them redefine pride.
