The GW Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute is proud to welcome the Cisneros Class of 2028.

Every year, a select group of students are chosen from the incoming class at The George Washington University to become Cisneros Scholars based on their academic achievement, demonstrated commitment to service, and potential for leadership in service of the Latino community. This year’s cohort include International Baccalaureate graduates, AP Scholar Award recipients, National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars, Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholars, and Caminos al Futuro Scholars.

“We are thrilled to welcome the tenth cohort of scholars into the Cisneros familia. We look forward to supporting their academic and personal growth, and providing them with the tools to become leaders in their fields,” shared Dr. Elizabeth Vaquera, Executive Director of the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute. “We are excited to see the contributions they will make within and beyond GW.”

Since its founding by GW alumnus Gil Cisneros and his wife, Jacki Cisneros, the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute has supported ten cohorts of students on their journey in higher education. At GW, Cisneros Scholars have received the Viney Wallach Scholarship and the Valerie and Earl Washington Scholarship, served as Columbian College of Arts and Science flag bearer, participated in Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) internships, held executive board positions in student organizations, participated in study abroad programs, and more.
